Armindo Araújo becomes National Champion with The Racing Factory

It's official! Armindo Araújo and Luís Ramalho are the 2020 National Rally Champions. In his debut year with The Racing Factory and at the helm of a Škoda Fabia R5 Evo, the experienced driver reaches his sixth absolute title, after the cancellation of the Rali do Algarve, the last round of the Portuguese Rally Championship.

In the year he completes 20 years of his career, the driver from Santo Tirso recognizes that "this title is undoubtedly the best way to celebrate these two decades where I have always tried to fight for conquests. It was an atypical year, but we were the team that won the most races, on land and on asphalt, we got the most points and we showed that we were the most competitive.", began by saying Armindo Araújo.

For Aloísio Monteiro, CEO of The Racing Factory, this is the achievement of a goal assumed at the beginning of the season. "When we left for this challenge, we had well defined goals and a lot of will that this day would come. We reached the goal after an atypical season, where it was necessary to redouble our efforts, attention and work so that nothing failed. We won the two main absolute Rally Championships held in Portugal, first in Madeira with Miguel Nunes / João Paulo and now with Armindo Araújo / Luís Ramalho in the Portuguese Rally Championship. These achievements are a pride for the whole team The Racing Factory, but also increase our responsibility for the future", explained Aloísio Monteiro who also added the importance of Skoda Motorsport in these triumphs: "The Škoda Fabia R5 Evo proved its reliability and the connection between The Racing Factory and the Škoda Motorsport has borne the first fruits. Let 2021 come!"

Justino Reis, who throughout the season has followed closely all the progress of their respective championships, is extremely satisfied. "Actually this was not the way we would like to celebrate this title. The championships should be celebrated on the road, together with the fans and the drivers. Still, and taking into account the contingencies and the current outlook, we can't but be extremely happy with this achievement, which proves the excellent work done by the whole team. After winning the Madeira Regional Championship with Miguel Nunes, this victory is the icing on the cake in the first season of our team", started by saying Justino Reis, before "thank all the drivers, co-drivers and staff members of The Racing Factory who made this season even more valuable. 2021 is just around the corner and our team has a lot of news to announce."
