The Racing Factory supports André Pires in his debut season in MotoE
With an eye on the technologies that promise to dominate motorsports in the very near future, The Racing Factory joins the rider André Pires in his debut season in the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup, a competition disputed with 100% electric race bikes, which takes place in parallel with the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix (MotoGP).
A young promise of Portuguese motorcycling, André Pires' curriculum already includes National Champion titles in the 125GP, SuperStock 600 and SuperBikes 1000 categories, being the only Portuguese rider with a Road Race curriculum, having already competed in the famous Isle of Man TT, being a regular presence at the Macau Grand Prix. This brilliant career, and his introduction into the premier category of electric motorcycling, drew the attention of The Racing Factory, which decided to support the rider in this new adventure, as a way to strengthen the bet on young national talent. "It is undoubtedly excellent news and we are very proud to welcome André Pires to The Racing Factory. We have always given priority to the talent of Portuguese origin and this bet comes exactly based on that premise of our team",explained Justino Reis, who welcomed the rider on his visit to the team's facilities in Santa Maria da Feira.
For Aloísio Monteiro, this is "a unique opportunity to be associated with a pioneer category in motorcycling, which promises to revolutionize, along with Formula E, the future of motorsports worldwide in the very near future. By supporting André, we will be able to closely follow his performance in the MotoE World Championship, expanding our knowledge in this area and accumulating experience in the technologies associated with this competition, such as the use and maintenance of batteries. This is an opportunity that we couldn't miss and a new challenge that we accept with open arms", he guaranteed.
The MotoE World Cup will feature 7 races, disputed on some of the most iconic circuits, on which André Pires and his teammate, Xavier Cardelus, will be the faces of Avintia Esponsorama. The Spanish team also counts, in the MotoGP category, with the riders Luca Marini and Enea Bastianini and, in the Moto3 category, with Carlos Tatay and Niccolò Antonelli.
