The Racing Factory presents Gravel Test Center

A little over a year ago, during the inauguration ceremony of The Racing Factory facilities, Aloísio Monteiro launched the goal of creating a training academy that could support his team's drivers and other interested individuals. Today, and after some months of ground preparation and associated logistics, The Racing Factory is pleased to announce one of the first steps in that direction, presenting the project Gravel Test Center TRF by ORT.

Starting this March, in a project in collaboration with ORT - Outeiro Racing Team, The Racing Factory counts on and provides a gravel track dedicated exclusively to training, testing and development of competition vehicles and that may soon also expand to leverage other ideas and projects of the team.

For Aloísio Monteiro, CEO of The Racing Factory, this is just the accomplishment of another goal, for which the team has been working for some time. "We can say that we have placed a 'first stone' in yet another idea that aims to promote motorsports in the national territory. We were fortunate to find an enormous receptivity from the ORT family, and we tried to develop a private place, with several tracks on gravel surfaces, which allow the testing of competition cars and some other types of activities and events, and that now gives shape to our Gravel Test Center. Although we still have some way to go before it is created, we can say that we also intend to implement in this space a part of our 'Rally School Academy' project, a school for drivers and driving development. The path is outlined, all we have to do is keep working, to put this idea into practice", he explained.

With a circuit configuration, which may range in the option of tracks to be covered, Gravel Test Center is located in the municipality of Leiria and brings together, in addition to the various tracks available that have fast and slow zones and the absolute privacy of the area, a set of excellent conditions to support the teams' work, including a work base in a clean area, with the availability of electricity points, water points, a shower room and toilets for customer support.

Justino Reis was also very pleased with the official launch of this place, which has already been 'approved' by the main customers of the Santa Maria da Feira team, including the National Rally Champion, Armindo Araújo. "Above all, this Gravel Test Center will serve as an excellent base for drivers to test and develop their cars in a space with total security and privacy, in a track designed to maximize an excellent possibility of setting up cars on gravel surfaces. At this moment, and at a stage when we are still developing other alternatives and improvements, tracks will be available that range from short circuits, with about 800 meters, to longer versions, around 3 kilometres. Other routes with a slight increase in distance should be available soon”.

To enhance this space, The Racing Factory and ORT also foresee the possibility, besides the installation of a 'Rally School', of holding actions in the area of driver and co-driver development, vehicle presentations, Race & Co-driver experiences, vehicle rental, and corporate events, among others.
