The Racing Factory and Armindo Araújo return to CPR leadership

  • Armindo Araújo's categorical victory at Rally Terras d'Aboboreira
  • Pedro Almeida left after Shakedown mishap
  • Rafael Botelho at a good level in his debut on continental soil

Armindo Araújo won the Rally Terras d'Aboboreira, sixth round of the Portuguese Rally Championship in an exemplary manner, taking the lead again in the Portuguese Rally Championship. An important victory for the driver and for The Racing Factory, which are closer to the title, when only the Casino do Algarve Rally, scheduled for the 14th and 15th of November, will take place.

Armindo Araújo was thrilled with the return to the victories in the Portuguese Rally Championship and their return to the leadership of CPR: "We knew that this was a decisive race, we had to win, the thought was always to give the maximum, attack a lot in the big sections to make the difference. Of course, winning in general is a double flavor, but our big goal was the victory among CPR's competitors. We won and added very important points that allowed us to return to the leadership of the championship and now everything is decided in the Algarve", he explained.

At the end of the race, Rafael Botelho was very satisfied with his performance and with the eighth place to General. "I am very happy! The debut in continental territory went very well, I had fun and learned a lot. We must continue adapting to Skoda R5! Great work of The Racing Factory", he highlighted. Pedro Almeida has already turned his goals for the Rally de La Nucía to the Peugeot Rally Cup Iberica, after the problems felt in the Aboboreira: "For us, it's a great frustration because this would be the first Earth Rally with the Peugeot Rally4 and we were with good expectations for the race, but above all is the safety and it seemed to us that these conditions were not met, considering the repetition of the problem, despite the tireless effort of the team. We pursued our goals for the season already next week, in Spain, in the Rally de La Nucía", he explained.

At the end of the race, Justino Reis was naturally very happy after the display of the whole team The Racing Factory in support of the drivers "We proved once again the competence of the whole team, by giving our drivers the best weapons to fight in this Rally Terras d'Aboboreira, exception made to the problems felt by Pedro Almeida in Peugeot 208 Rally 4, which result from the youth of the car in this type of dirt floors. Armindo's victory turns out to be a special prize for everyone, but we must also highlight the good progress shown by young Rafael Botelho. This was a very positive weekend for us!", he said.

Besides the Rally de La Nucía to count for the Peugeot Rally Cup Iberica, The Racing Factory will be present at Baja Portalegre 500 with Aloísio Monteiro, Pedro Ferreira and Diamantino Ferreira.
